Vier Letzte Lieder

WELCOME TO STRAUSS'S EPITAPH

I’m interested in this topic because now I’m dealing with the ‘lost’ of losing someone who I was really cherished. I want to understand the way to accept this feeling and right now this piece was really linked to my situation.

There’s some sources which I have gathered that said the relationship between the piece and composer’s life (For example, a very prominent of French horn part which might be referred to Strauss’ father who was a professional French hornist) And the melody that might be referred to the words and character that have mentioned in the piece.

My main point is that to find the ‘link’ between all of the sources from his life, his situation, historical background, poem, pieces, and ‘Strauss’ altogether. And at the end, I might create ‘my music’ from the understanding of all these sources and perform it in my recital.
